Theatre review: Shattered!
Edinburgh Festival Fringe Scotsman review: Shattered! at Café Camino (Venue 65), reviewed by Matt Trueman
Depression is not an indulgence and it’s not something you can simply snap out of. It’s an illness, and Ashley James Pryce’s verbatim piece, a string of online testimonials, makes that perfectly clear.
As a bid to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health, it’s touching.
However, the form – a series of monologues punctuated by a chorus’s illustrative movements – lacks dynamism, and it’s too straightforward to interrogate the material being delivered.
Until 24 August. Today 7:30pm
More info: Shattered! is at Café Camino
