Theatre review: Goose
Edinburgh Festival Fringe Scotsman review: Goose at Venue 13, reviewed by Matt Trueman
There’s a ponderous beauty in Michael Yichao’s monologue that looks at the way we experience relativity. He plays 13-year-old Dallin and, to him, the universe seems a lot bigger and time a lot slower than they do for adults.
Yet to meditate on inescapable subjectivity, Yichao needs a boy genius with an undergraduate’s understanding of quantum mechanics and cosmology. Oh, and a space goose. It starts perkily, but the writing grows so consciously poetic and hazily philosophical that Goose drifts away from its audience.
Until 24 August. Today 10:30am
