Edinburgh Comedy Awards shortlist announced
The Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards have announced the seven acts who will compete for the prestigious prize – the biggest shortlist for 20 years.
The award, often referred to as the Perrier Awards, is the main comedy prize at the Fringe, and this year will be contested by the following acts:

Seann Walsh: listing
A 10-strong jury chose them from around 600 shows staged in Edinburgh this month.
Alan Partridge star Steve Coogan, who won the award himself in 1992, will present the prize on Saturday lunchtime.
Other former winners of the main awards – now in their 33rd year – include Dylan Moran, Al Murray and Frank Skinner.
