Musical review: Damaged! – The Musical
Edinburgh Festival Fringe Scotsman review: Damaged! – The Musical at Paradise in Augustines (Venue 152), reviewed by Claire Smith
It’s hard to know where to start with this one-man, self-penned musical based on mental health issues. Members of the performer’s family are represented on stage by giant teddy bears while slides give us flashbacks to childhood.
One of the songs is about being refused acceptance to a mental hospital near New York.
Watching this is like being trapped against your will in someone else’s therapy session.
Billed as an hour and 20 minutes, it overran – and only came to an end when a woman in the audience started noisily pointing at her watch.
Until 24 August. Today 10:20pm
