Children’s show review: Back From The Future
Edinburgh Festival Fringe Scotsman review: Back From The Future at Pleasance Courtyard (Venue 33), reviewed by David Pollock
Toby Mitchell is a cheerful character with a high-concept story full of potential. He’s come back from 30 years in the future, he says, to find out what happened to his dad, who disappeared after performing this very show.
The action’s tone varies with some really sparky moments where he invites the kids to question him on what the world is like three decades from now.
But the tone jars and the denouement feels overly wordy for the broad age range.
Until 25 August. Today 4:30pm
