Musical review: Guido!
Edinburgh Fringe Scotsman review: Guido! at C too (Venue 4), reviewed by Claire Smith
This is a slapstick musical telling the story of Guy Fawkes with a lot of bright costumes, big smiles, jazz hands and silly songs. In this version, Guido is a reluctant hero, his love interest is a prostitute and King James VI is a spoilt child.
It’s better for not taking itself seriously and there are some sparky young performers here. But it is a bit like watching a bunch of kids running wild with the dressing up box.
