Theatre review: Relationshit
Edinburgh Fringe Scotsman review: Relationshit at Venue 13 (Venue 13), reviewed by Sally Stott
Everyone’s permanently hanging about in their bra and/or pants in this odd mix of emotional outpourings and unappealing descriptions of sex. Young Glaswegian writer and performer Rehanna MacDonald boldly attempts to explore a bisexual woman’s relationships with a male and female partner, but struggles to make these ring true.
The cast – which also includes Charlie Hiett and Tessie Orange-Turner – are promising performers, but they’re fighting a losing battle with graphic dialogue that seems designed to shock with little other purpose.
An exploration of what happens when love dies is an interesting idea, but more genuine insights are needed.
